江差町 Esashi Town
姥神大神宮渡御祭 Ubagami Daijingu Togyo Festival
京都祇園祭の流れを汲み、370年以上も前から受け継がれてきた北海道最古の祭り。
This festival held by Hokkaido's oldest shrine and boasts the longest history of its kind in Hokkaido, is a powerful three-day festival during which 13 floats run throughout the town.
瓶子岩 Heishi Rock
ひとりの姥が、神のお告げによりニシンの群来をもたらしたという伝説にまつわる岩。
There is the legend that a small broad-shouldered liquor bottle turned to stone, and appeared on the sea and is still worshiped like a God protecting safety at sea and bringing in a big catch.
上ノ国町 Kaminokuni Town
勝山館跡 Katsuyamadade Castle Ruins
松前藩の礎を築いた武田信廣の館跡。丘陵を利用した三段構えの山城は、堅牢無比だったといわれる。
Katsuyamadate Castle is a castle built on a mountain by Nobuhiro Takeda, the founder of the Matsumae Domain, around the 15th century.
夷王山 Mt. Iozan
標高159メートルの山頂からは、360度の眺望が広がる。エゾヤマツツジの名所としても有名。
From the peak of 159m, Okushiri Island and shoreline stretching towards Setana can be seen as well as the main part of the Katsuyamadate Castle Ruins and the center of the town.
厚沢部町 Assabu Town
土橋自然観察教育林・レクの森 Reku-no-Mori (recreation forest)
森林浴を楽しみながらレクリエーション、キャンプなどを楽しめる。自生北限となるヒノキアスナロ（ヒバ）や、自生南限となるトドマツをはじめ、約560種もの植物が生育している。
This forest is known for being the northern limit of Hiba (cypress family) and the southern limit of Sakhalin fir, and its diversity in ecosystems attracts a large number of visitors.
満天の星 Starry Sky
天体観測条件に恵まれる厚沢部町。よく晴れた日には、こぼれ落ちるような星空が広がる。
You can see the wonderful starry sky and the Milky Way over your head in the town. It is one of the best places for stargazing in Hokkaido.
乙部町 Otobe Town
滝瀬海岸（シラフラ） Takise Coast
白い断崖が続き、美しくも奇妙な海岸線を形づくっている。
This is a beautiful but strange coastal line with a white wall that seemingly goes on forever. This coast is also called shirafura (meaning white sloping land) in the Ainu language.
縁桂 Enkatsura Trees
地上7メートルで二本の枝が結合している連理の木。触ると良縁が結ばれるといわれる。
Two approximately 500-year-old katsura trees stand about 40m tall. Because they are "connected trees"―their branches intertwine 7m above the ground―they are treasured by local people as matchmakers.
奥尻町 Okushiri Town
なべつる岩 Nabetsuru Rock
浸食で真ん中に穴があき、鍋のつるのような形をしている奇岩。奥尻島のシンボル。
This is a gigantic 19.5-meter-high rock that has been eroded into a shape resembling the arched handle of a pot. This amazing natural formative art was created by the wild waves.
賽の河原公園（ハマナスの花） Sai-no-Kawara Park with Ramanas Roses
奥尻島の北端、稲穂岬にある公園。6月頃からはハマナスの花が咲き乱れる。
This park is located around Cape Inaho, the northern end of the island. You can see Ramanas Roses blooming from June.
今金町 Imakane Town
後志利別川 Shiribeshi-Toshibetsu River
水質が良好で、秋には多くの鮭が遡上する道南唯一の一級河川。天然アユの生息地としても有名。
This river ranked at the top as the clearest river in Japan several dozens of times, boasting its purity. There are many migratory fish traveling across rivers and oceans such as cherry salmon.
じゃがいもの花 Potato field with flowers
じゃがいものトップブランド「今金男しゃく」の栽培が広がる今金町の季節の風景。
The quality of Imakane Danshaku potatoes is so high that the prices of Danshaku potatoes for the year are set based on the price of Imakane Danshaku.
せたな町 Setana Town
三本杉岩 Sanbonsugi Rocks
高さ約30メートルの3つの巨岩が並ぶシンボリックな風景。
Three sharp 30-m-high rocks uniquely tower in the sea. There is Sanbonsugi swimming beach in the vicinity, which boasts the clearest water quality in Hokkaido.
親子熊岩 Oyako-Kuma Rock
小熊が親熊に手を伸ばすような姿に見える、親子熊の伝説が残る岩。
Like a silhouette of a mother bear reaching out to embrace her child, it is hard to believe that this rock is a natural formation.
